Susan E. Jeans graduated (B.A. summa cum laude) from the University of North Texas (formerly NTSU) and from the University of Kansas School of Law (J.D.). As an attorney, her work, both for pay and pro bono, included:

• handling trusts and estates as a bank trust officer;
• writing contracts and calculating mineral ownership as a landman in an oil and gas exploration company;
• writing employment contracts and policy handbooks for private schools;
• researching, briefing, and motions practice in multi-party environmental litigation.
