The Priority of Kingdom-Focused Prayer – Rick Astle

Jesus emphasized praying about kingdom-related concerns in the second of six petitions in The Lord’s Prayer. And our Savior commanded us to “seek ye first the kingdom of God,” clearly communicating the priority we must give to eternal rather than temporal concerns.

Our Lord is revealing to His Church the need to pray in the manner He instructed — placing the focus on His agenda instead of on man’s agenda. Since 1996, Rick Astle has been helping to strengthen and encourage the local church as an Association Missionary in southeastern North Carolina. Previously he served several churches in North Carolina and Tennessee as a senior pastor or church staff associate. He is a friend of and prayer warrior for pastors.

Reverend Astle has spoken or conducted prayer ministry throughout the United States for organizations such as the North American Mission Board, LifeWay, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and Campus Crusade for Christ. He has participated in powerful prayer times at locations such as Las Vegas, New Orleans, Lesotho, Africa, and “Ground Zero.” During the recovery period following 9/11, he was invited to pray with officers at the Port Authority Command Post in New York City.

Rick Astle conducts prayer conferences and retreats for churches, associations and state conventions speaking on a variety of prayer-related topics that encourage spiritual awakening. He and his wife have one child and live in Whiteville, North Carolina.
